A bit about me...
Hello! My name is Alyssa Sandoval and I was raised in Clinton Township of Macomb County, Michigan. After graduating from Chippewa Valley High School in 2010, my adoration for communication, writing, and literature led me to pursue an undergraduate degree in Education. In 2015, I graduated from the University of Michigan’s (Go Blue!) School of Education program with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education with concentrations in English and Psychology. Since then, I have earned my Master's degree in "Teacher Leadership" from Oakland University (Go Grizzlies!).
While I do adore literature, my first love is writing: poetry, short stories, journals--you name it. My love for stringing sentences together and making it sound beautiful to the human ear is probably what initially inspired my passion for English. My favorite band is The Shins. My favorite TV show is Stranger Things. My favorite color is light blue. My favorite book is Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. Or The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. Or No Matter the Wreckage by Sarah Kay. I like books a lot. Outside of stereotypical English-teacher "stuff," I enjoy traveling, photography, DIY projects, archery, kayaking, and all things autumn. |
